/Earth/ (1930) is one of the most well-known Ukrainian films in cinema history, recognized as a masterpiece of world cinema. Celebrated in Ukraine after Dovzhenko’s death, this avant-garde film from the period of collectivisation was banned nine days after its release. It has generated a large number of controversial interpretations.
